तीन माह पहले रेस्क्यू की गई बाघिन अपने दो शावकों के बाद अब तीसरे शावक को भी खा गई। हालांकि विभाग बाघिन के व्यवहार की निगरानी करने में जुट गया है।
कार्बेट की यूपी से लगी दक्षिणी सीमा से रेस्क्यू की गई बाघिनको ढेला स्थित रेस्क्यू सेंटर लाकर रखा गया था। बाघिन के पिछले हिस्से में गोल तार फंसा हुआ था। बीते रविवार को बाघिन ने रेस्क्यू सेंटर में तीन शावकों को जन्म दिया था। बुधवार व गुरुवार को दो शावकों की मौत हो गई थी। गुरुवार को बाड़े के भीतर शावकों को बाघिन खा गई थी। इसके बाद बाघिन के पास एक ही शावक था। दो दिन पूर्व वह शावक को कमरे के भीतर से शावक को मुंह में दबाकर बाड़े में ले गई थी। उसे बाड़े में झाड़ी में छिपाकर रखा था। शनिवार शाम को बाड़े की ओर लगाए गए सीसीटीवी कैमरे में शावक नहीं दिखा। रविवार को बाघिन को बाड़े से हटाकर शावक को खोजा गया तो वह नहीं मिला।
बाघिन द्वारा अपने शावकों को खाने की घटना को विभाग ने सामान्य बताया था। विभागीय अधिकारियों का कहना था कि मांसभक्षी जानवरों का यह सामान्य व्यवहार है। जंगल या चिडिय़ाघर में बाघ ऐसा व्यवहार करते है।
पहले दो शावकों की तरह तीसरे शावक को भी बाघ द्वारा अपना भोजन बनाया गया होगा। बाघिन वर्तमान में सामान्य आहार ले रही है। वह पूर्ण रूप से स्वस्थ प्रतीत हो रही है। उसके व्यवहार की लगातार निगरानी की जा रही है।
