दीपावली की रात को सितारगंज के किच्छा रोड पर अचानक मुख्य बाजार में हड़कंप मच गया। जहां एक तरफ लोग दीपावली पर दीए जलाकर दीपाली मना रहे थे। तभी किच्छा रोड चौधरी मार्केट के बगल में केक बेकरी में अचानक आग लग गई आग इतनी भीषण थी कि रात के समय दूर-दूर तक आग की लपटें दिखाई दे रही थी। आग को देखकर पड़ोसियों द्वारा फायर ब्रिगेड को सुचना दी गयी। जब तक अड़ोस पड़ोस के दुकानदार पानी से ही आग बुझाने में लगे रहे लेकिन आग पर काबू नहीं पाया गया कुछ देर बाद फायर ब्रिगेड पहुंचने पर दमकल कर्मचारियों ने आग पर काबू पाया। दुकान स्वामी का कहना है कि आग से लाखों रुपए की क्षति हुई है। आसपास के लोगों में हड़कंप मच गया
