जोशीमठ के चांई गांव में 7और 8 जून में बादल फटने के बाद भारी नुकसान हुआ था जिसके बाद से इन दिनो चाई गांव में राहत राशि बांटी जा रही है लेकिन राहत राशि के नाम पर केवल किसानों के साथ खिलवाड़ किया जा रहा है
किसानों को ₹90 से लेकर ₹112, 90, 187, और ₹200 तक के चेक दिए गए हैं जो सरकार की मुआवजा राशियों की योगदान पर सवाल खड़े कर रही है
वही इतनी कम धनराशि देकर किसानों के साथ बड़ा मजाक किया जा रहा है प्रशासन भी इस बात को कबूल रहा है यह है कि सरकार की जो योजना है उस के तहत धनराशि काफी कम की गई है जिसकी वजह से किसानों को उनके नुकसान का पूरा पैसा नहीं दिया जा रहा है
उत्तराखंड सरकार द्वारा मुआवजा एक हेक्टेयर का 37500 धनराशि स्वीकृत है लेकिन अगर बात की जाए तो यह धनराशि आपदा के सामने बहुत कम देखी जा सकती है चन्द्रशेखर वशिष्ठ तहसीलदार जोशीमठ का कहना है कि मानक के अनुरुप ही हर किसान को उसकी भूमि का मुआवजा दिया गया है
