चमोली जिले के महाविद्यालयों में अध्यापकों की भारी कमी के चलते छात्रों को काफी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है चमोली जिले के पोखरी विकासखंड में भी अध्यापकों की भारी कमी है जिसकी वजह से छात्रों को या तो देहरादून या श्रीनगर पढ़ाई के लिए जाना पड़ रहा है
छात्रों की बार-बार शिकायत और पत्राचार के बाद आज तक शिक्षा मंत्री ने उनकी नहीं सुनी है जिससे पोखरी के छात्र-छात्राओं में काफी निराशा भी दिख रही है उनका कहना है कि क्षेत्रीय विधायक भी हमारे क्षेत्र के होने के बाद भी हमारी कोई भी मांग नहीं मानी जा रही है‌।
जिसकी वजह से छात्रों को पढ़ने के लिए घर से बाहर जाना पड़ रहा है महाविद्यालय में अध्यापकों की कमी वर्षों से चली आ रही है सरकारें बदल रही हैं लेकिन अध्यापकों की स्थिति जस की तस बनी हुई है जिसकी वजह से क्षेत्रों में पलायन जैसी स्थिति भी बढ़ती नजर आ रही है एक और जहां सरकार अच्छी शिक्षा देने के दावे करते हैं तो वहीं इस प्रकार की लापरवाही से स्थानीय छात्रों को दो-चार होना पड़ रहा है ।
यही नहीं जोशीमठ विकासखंड में भी अध्यापकों की कमी के वजह से छात्र-छात्राओं को काफी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा है पर इस और सरकारी तंत्र के कान में जूं तक नहीं रेंग रही है इस पूरे मामले में संदीप बर्तवाल पूर्व छात्रसंघ अध्यक्ष का कहना है कि उनके द्वारा बार-बार पत्राचार करने के बाद भी आज तक कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हो पाई है जिसकी वजह से उनके क्षेत्र के कई छात्र छात्रा बाहर जाकर शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे हैं और उन पर खर्चे का भार भी बढ़ रहा है
