कांग्रेस प्रदेश अध्यक्ष करन माहरा ने आज यहां पार्टी के जनप्रतिनिधियों व पदाधिकारियों के साथ प्रशासन के निर्देश पर एनएच विभाग द्वारा उजाड़े गये सैकड़ों व्यापारियों से मुलाकात कर उन्हें भरोसा दिया कि कांग्रेस उनकी लड़ाई को गंभीरता के साथ लड़ेगी और उन्हें पुर्नवास होने तक संघर्ष जारी रखेगी। श्री माहरा ने प्रशासन की कार्रवाई पर गहरा दुःख व्यक्त किया। जिसके बाद प्रदेश अध्यक्ष ने भगत सिंह चौक में व्यापारियों के समर्थन में कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ धरना दिया। धरना स्थल पर आयोजित सभा को संबोधित करते हुए प्रदेश अध्यक्ष माहरा ने कहा कि भाजपा सरकार के कार्यकाल में हमेशा व्यापारियों का उत्पीड़न होता आया है। पिछले काफी समय से प्रदेश के हजारों व्यापारियों को अतिक्रमण हटाने के नाम पर उजाड़ दिया गया है। इतना ही नहीं अफसरशाही भी हमेशा व्यापारियों का आर्थिक व मानसिक शोषण करती रही है। लेकिन सरकार में इसकी कोई सुनवाई नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि अमीरों की सरकार ने रूद्रपुर में गरीबों को उजाड़ा है। इसके लिए जनता भाजपा को माफ नहीं करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस शासन में हमेशा व्यापारियों के हितो की रक्षा की गई। सभा को विधायक सुमित हृदयेश, आदेश चौहान, भुवन कापड़ी आदि वक्ताओं ने संबोधित किया। इस मौके पर कार्यकारी जिलाध्यक्ष हिमांशु गावा, महानगर अध्यक्ष जगदीश तनेजा, कार्यकारी महानगर अध्यक्ष सीपी शर्मा,मीना शर्मा, हरीश पनेरू,पुष्कर राज जैन, सौरभ चिलाना, मोहन खेड़ा,संदीप चीमा, दिलीप अधिकारी, अनिल शर्मा, दिनेश भट्ट, फरीद मंसूरी, हरीश प्रधान, सर्वेश, हरपाल सिंह, सरताज अहमद, हरप्रीत सिंह, बलवंत सिंह, ज्योति टम्टा, विजय अरोरा, उमर अली,सावित्री यादव, सपना, ममता रानी, राखी जोशी, उमा सरकार, जितेन्द्र राणा, मुशर्रफ, सुमित राय, परिमल राय, संजीव रस्तोगी, ममता हालदार, बाबू खां, जगदीश जोशी, गणेश उपाध्याय, आदि मौजूद थे।
